Pair of Mississippi men charged with delivery of controlled substance
The Saline County Prosecutor's Office filed felony charges of delivery of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid against two Mississippi men Friday, Feb. 3.
The charges result from a traffic stop Thursday evening, Feb. 2. According to the probable cause statement, MSHP personnel pulled over a vehicle driven by Bradley S. Claunch, 34, of Gulfport, and with Lewis Le Milam, 32, of Ocean Springs, at approximately 7:45 p.m. near mile marker 74.2 of eastbound Interstate 70. The officer cites the vehicle following another vehicle too closely as the reason for the stop and reports the driver and passenger's stories did not match, prompting a search of their vehicle that allegedly uncovered 31.5 pounds of marijuana.
In addition to the felony charge, both men were charged with a class D misdemeanor of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
