Marshall Daughters of Isabella holds January meeting
Marshall Daughters of Isabella met on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Regent Maureen Burks opened the meeting. Chancellor Virginia Sprigg led the opening prayer. The pledge to the flag was given. Roll of officers showed 11 present, one absent and one excused.
Sprigg, of the Spiritual Committee, read from the Catholic Missourian regarding Vitae, as well as from the Spiritual Reflection Guide items about St. John, the Apostle, and St. Genevieve.
Marge Elsea read the minutes of the November meeting, and they were approved. A treasurer's report was given by Mildred Gilliam, and the scribe reported the last business meeting was published in the newspaper.
Christmas greetings were given from Diane Corriveau, International Regent and from their Episcopal Advisor, Archbishop Luc Cir, asking for prayers for peace and for Pope Francis.
Judy Mark reported on December activities.
Standing rules were discussed and remain unchanged with no business meeting in July or January.
Burks reported that Deanna Sporleder resigned from the Circle and read the list of committees that she has appointed.
An audit meeting was scheduled for 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the home of Burks.
Sprigg accepted the Vocation Cross. Members were reminded to pray and that the first Saturday rosary will be at St. Peter Church at 9 a.m.
Refreshments were served, and Helen Girard led the closing prayer.
