The 19th-ranked Missouri Valley College men's wrestling team finished fourth in the power-packed field which came to town last weekend for the MVC Invitational.

The meet featured eight of the Top 10 NAIA schools, with 33 teams bringing some 400 athletes to the Burns Athletic Center. Top-ranked Grand View, which has won the last five national titles, took the top spot with 180.5 points -- followed by Cumberlands (Ky.) with 117 points. The Vikings had 105.5 points with five medalists.

Valley locked up the 165-pound finals, with junior Andrew Simmons nipping sophomore Dalton Tipton, 1-0. Senior heavyweight Justin Smith lost in the third-place match and winning the seventh-place bouts were sophomore Chase Krutzky (149 pounds) and junior Tobias Barnes (157).

The Vikings head to Baldwin City, Kan., Saturday for the Heart of America Conference Duals.
