Rotary Club to hold annual Texas Hold-Em Poker Tournament Friday, Jan. 27
The Marshall Rotary Club will hold its annual Texas Hold-Em Poker Tournament beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, at the CL Stephenson Multipurpose Building at 1505 E. Vest St. This is a new location for this year's event. Local residents may remember the building as the old Luke's Place restaurant. There is an entry fee for the tournament. Cash prizes will be paid to the final table of six players. There will be free chili and popcorn for players, and cash soda sales will be available. While there will be no beer sales during the event, players may bring their own beer if they are over the age of 21. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and players must be registered by 6:15 to begin play at 6:30.
The annual Texas Hold-Em Poker Tournament held by the Marshall Rotary Club raises funds for local charities. This year's beneficiaries of proceeds raised from the tournament will be Child Safe of Central Missouri and the "SAFE Program" at Marshall Public Schools.
In past tournaments, players have eagerly anticipated the 50/50 raffles held during the tournament. This year will be no different with a 50/50 raffle drawn at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
