The truth of love: Resolve

Friday, January 6, 2017

The most important resolution, the act of finding an answer or solution to a conflict or problem, for those who think the Bible is filled with contradictions is resolved by finding the answers and never leaving the faith. The faith in knowing Yeshua HaMashiach/Jesus the Messiah as savior and that the Bible is the infallible word of God. There are no questions that can't be answered and the Bible has no contradictions.

HaSatan, the enemy of the Messiah wants to undermine the truth. Robbing folk's faith, depriving them of eternal life, because he is the father of lies, hating humans made in God's image, and angry that he loses -- read to the end of the book.

Have confidence that the Lord will provide the answers when diligently sought. Start with the Bible itself. What is the definition of religion? Read James 1:27. How does one live for God? Read 1 John 4:15-19, better yet, read the whole chapter. Let us read all the teachings of the Messiah and obey his directives. Remember by cross checking scriptures you gain a deeper understanding. The word states in 2 Timothy 2:15, "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Seeking, pray to receive an answer in the word or ask the Lord to direct you to a resource. The Lord provides ministers/spiritual counselors to share his truths.

One question received was why would Yeshua say in Mark 9:43, it is better to cut your hand off rather than enter hell with two hands, what kind of Messiah would say that? He did not mean it literally. Yeshua who healed and delivered did not want anyone to maim themselves, he was using a Hebrew idiom. The Middle East culture does not allow a one-handed person to share in the communal food pots and amputation is the penalty for theft. Yeshua was teaching on the seriousness of the sin of stealing.

Questions regarding women in ministry can result in confusion mislabeled contradictions. Studying it in context, knowing the type of new believers the message is sent to can lay the word contradiction to rest. The Apostle Paul tells women to keep silent in the church in Corinthians, it appears he is against women, yet elsewhere in scripture he sends women to minister and even states there is neither male nor female, spiritually. Contradictions? No, he was writing to specific fellowships regarding uneducated pagan women and to women deceived by false teachers.

A believer was disturbed about the woman healed of the issue of blood since it was taught dramatically that the sick woman crawled to touch the hem of Yeshua's garment. How could she crawl through a crowd and not be stepped on? Not be recognized? She was unclean and should not be out in public. Yes, but the answer is she was veiled according to custom and not crawling through the throng to touch the tzitzit, specially knotted ritual fringe on the four corners of the garment, his prayer shawl. Numbers 15:38-39, Tzitzit are the physical representation of the Torah's 613 dos and don'ts. Yeshua being an observant Jew wore this and felt the power, the anointing, go forth. Then recognizing the woman publicly he restored her to the community so there would be no negative repercussions. The real lesson is the woman's faith in the promises of God knowing who Yeshua is.

Big or little, every question can be answered. You may not have any questions yourself, but can you share the truth to those who have questions or doubts? That is why you need to read and study the word. Prepare yourself, for all believers are to be ministers of reconciliation 2 Corinthians 5:18, you are the Messiah's ambassador. If you don't know something, tell the person on the verge of rejecting truth that you will help them find the answer. There are no contradictions in the holy scriptures, no errors, only subjects and concepts that one may not comprehend, but only be for a short time as you seek the Lord.

Never let a question on one point stop you from reading the scriptures. Write it down, put it on your prayer list and ask the Lord to reveal the answer and direct you. He will lead you to truth for Yeshua is the truth, the way and the life. Just because one doesn't understand every aspect or nuance of scripture does not negate that the word of God is true. The whole Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit and is infallible, there are no new sins, nor have any been disallowed, but how to stay free from them can be found in the word of God.

When we have a question or small nagging doubt it is analogous to a leaky faucet. Do we discard the faucet? Quit using the water? No, usually we check out everything connected and, when necessary, find someone who knows how to resolve the problem.

Remember the rivers of living water never quit. Let us help others so they don't quit. Let's not sit by as friends or family leave the truth of the Messiah's redeeming love. First pray in intercession, and as an ambassador ask people what the question is and help guide them back to faith, reconciling them back to Messiah.

May we earnestly live to the fullness and richness of the entirety of God's word and resolve to help others do so this year and every year of our lives.

Blessings and Shalom
