The Santa Fe Agri-Leaders will host an annual kick-off meeting on Monday, Jan. 9, at 6 p.m. in the Santa Fe High School Commons in Alma. The event is open to the public and will include a free meal.

Dr. Jerry Crownover will speak after the dinner. He is a former professor of Agriculture Education at Missouri State University, and is now a full-time cattle producer in Lawrence County, as well as a columnist for the Ozarks Farm and Neighbor.

"Jerry has a special way of telling stories that reflects a humorous, common sense approach to dealing with life's situations," Dr. Anson Elliot, former director of Darr School of Agriculture at Missouri State University, said in a press release. "His tales often mirror the traditional values of the people . . . and provide a glimpse into the light heartedness found in the culture."
