Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/13/2016
Receipts: 3858 Last Week: 3045 Year Ago: 2696
Compared to last week, steer calves traded 3.00-7.00 higher,
except 400-450 lbs 10.00 higher, yearlings 2.00-5.00 higher.
Heifers sold 2.00-6.00 higher, except 400-450 lbs 6.00-10.00
higher as buyers had orders for some grazing cattle again. It
was the annual customer appreciation day at Kingsville Livestock
and an excellent run of feeder cattle was offered. The quality
ran deep throughout the day and kept buyers in their seats.
Majority of the offering not as fleshy as previous weeks as the
cold sets in. Demand was good on an active market with a heavy
supply. The feeder offering consisted of near 57 percent steers
and bulls and 43 percent heifers with 50 percent over 600 lbs.
Cows and bulls totaled 09 percent of the offering.
