MVC Division of Fine Arts presents annual 'Celebration of Christmas' show

The Missouri Valley College Division of Fine Arts will present its annual Celebration of Christmas Holiday Music Show on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1-2.

The show will be at 7:30 p.m. each night in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre.

The show features the MVC Wind Ensemble under direction of Ron Montgomery, Valley Connection Show Choir under direction of Diana Malan, the MVC Concert Choir under direction of Ryan Hampton and the MVC Repertory Dance Ensemble under direction of Janie Morgan.

The Wind Ensemble features Allan Criswell and Ron Montgomery -- trumpet; Koy Dalton -- alto horn; Alexander Hughes -- trombone; Corey Perron -- bass clarinet; and James Withers -- euphonium. They will perform "Sketches on a French Carol" by James Curnow, "Coventry Carol" by Paul Curnow and "Christmas Carol Medley: Adeste Fideles, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Joy to the World," arranged by C. Smith.

Valley Connection Show Choir will perform a variety of favorites including "The Christmas Song," "Jingle Bells," "Holly Jolly Christmas," "What Christmas Means to Me," "I Saw Three Ships," "Mary Did You Know?" and "The Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth."

The MVC Repertory Dance Ensemble will perform "Santa Baby."

The MVC Concert Choir will close the show with "Carol of the Children" and "Candlelight Carol" by John Rutter, "In the Bleak Midwinter," "Celtic Silent Night," "Of the Father's Love Begotten" and "Ding Dong Merrily on High."

The show is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7 p.m. and seating will be first come, first serve.
