Cattle Auction Report for Oct.10, 2016:

Receipts: 546 Week Ago: 376 Year Ago: 1344

Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves sold steady to 5.00 lower. Nearby contracts closed near limit down on the board and the market is still looking for a bottom after there was some hope we had seen it last week. Demand was light to moderate with a moderate supply. There just hasn't been many cattle moving in this part of the country yet. The run of feeders included near 62 percent steers and bulls, 38 percent heifers and 20 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 15 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00 lower.

Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 129.00-138.00; 500-600 lbs 123.50-133.50; 600-700 lbs 116.00-129.00, pkg 668 lbs calves 117.00; 700-800 lbs 116.00-116.50.

Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 350-400 lbs 123.00-133.00; 400-500 lbs 115.00-128.00; 500-600 lbs 106.00-121.00; pkg 640 lbs 104.00; 650-700 lbs fleshy 104.00. Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 112.00-121.50; 500-600 lbs 93.00-112.50; pkg 607 lbs fleshy 96.00.

Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1 350-400 lbs 140.00-150.00; 400-500 lbs 123.00-135.00; 500-600 lbs 113.00-125.00. Medium and Large 1-2 550-600 lbs 119.50-121.50.

Bred Cows: Medium and Large 1-2 2 yrs.-short and solid 1050-1285 lbs 2nd-3rd period 1125.00-1410.00 per head.

Cow-Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1-2 2-4 yrs. 900-1000 lbs with 200-300 lb calves 1210.00-1410.00 per pair.
