Monday, October 17, 2016
A nearly packed house gathers at the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre to witness the world premiere of "The American Artist: The Life and Times of George Caleb Bingham" Saturday, Oct. 15. The film, the idea for which was developed by the Friends of Arrow Rock, portrays the life of Bingham through his careers as a self-taught painter and politician, both of which he practiced in the now historic village from the 1830s - 1860s.
