Thursday, October 13, 2016

Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey announced during a regular Saline County Commission meeting on Thursday, Oct. 13, that four new storm sirens will be installed in the courthouse on Thursday, Oct. 20.

Guthrey said Emergency Management Director Tony Day spoke with him about the upcoming installment. Once the sirens are installed, pre-programmed storm messages and several tunes can be played from them, including "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," "Valley Will Roll" and the Marshall High School prep song. The sirens will be installed with help from the Marshall Fire Department.

County Clerk Debbie Russell reported that she will attend a meeting with Enbridge Pipeline in Moberly on Thursday, Oct. 13, to hear of reports on their finished construction and if it will impact Saline County.
