Marshall Monday Club holds September meeting
The Marshall Monday Club met at First Christian Church on Monday, Sept. 12. President Anne Rea welcomed members and 10 guests.
Rea then introduced Program Chairman Mary Jo Berry, who introduced the program for the meeting: Fall Fashion Show From Sisters and Company, Sally Lockett and Linda Carroll Sedalia.
Secretary Kathy Green read the minutes of the last meeting. A motion was made by Becky Brzuchalski to accept the minutes as read. Seconded by Peggy Burfeind, the motion carried.
The Treasurer's Report was given by Treasurer Bonnie Farris . A motion was made by Mary Jo Berry to accept the report as read. Seconded by Mary Lou Porter, the motion carried.
President Rea thanked caterer Lorie Godsey.
Several Longtime Member cards were presented to Lucille Hisle, 39 years, and Henrietta Fenner, 35 years. Audit Committee Chairman Loretta Green reported that the committee had completed its audit and no errors were reported.
It was reported the Executive Board has met and discussed a request from the custodial staff for an increase in the clean up. Board member Mary Kay Peterson moved to increase clean-up fee after a luncheon to $90 and clean-up fee after a regular meeting to $70. It was seconded by board member Mary Lou Porter, and the motion carried.
Rea closed the meeting with the following quotation from Henry David Thoreau: an American Essayist: 1817-1862: "Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new."
