A recent inspection by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services yielded positive results for Highland Home in Marshall.

A letter from DHSS stated that based on the findings of their investigation conducted Aug. 10, the facility is in substantial compliance with the Missouri Nursing home Rules and Regulations.

Highland Home Director Linda Cook noted this inspection allows them to continue their services to the community and states it is not very often such high marks are given on the first inspection.

"It's kind of an award for us you know, personally," Cook said. "A lot of it goes to the staff with their compassionate care and their love for these people and their patience."

According to Cook, the inspection's results will help them in their goal of continuing to provide services to the community.
