Letter to the Editor

Dear editor,

I am writing to let our opinion be known about the remodeling that recently took place at the Saline County Fairground building. We have been attending the Thursday night dances for several years. We had no idea what the remodeling would entail, but what a terrible sight when we returned to dancing.

The place looks like a barn, has awful acoustics, and I have not heard one good word about the way it looks/sounds. We entered the building and there appeared to be a "roar," but it turned out to be people having conversations. The music ... I don't know how to describe what the acoustics are. After being shut down for three months, and hard telling how many thousands of dollars are being spent, there is not any improvement.

The dark wall by the kitchen just adds to the barn look, which is not attractive. Something needs to be done. Not being in the construction business, I don't know what the answer is, but there surely is a remedy to this. It's not the band's fault but the sound is not pleasant. Please research this and come up with an answer. Thank you for your time.
