Failure to stop causes Thursday evening collision

A collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and Route N Thursday, Feb. 11, at approximately 9:43 p.m. was caused by one vehicle's failure to stop at a stop sign, a Missouri State Highway Patrol report states.

A vehicle driven Alvin J Hensley, 26, of Sedalia, traveling south on Route N, failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into the path of a vehicle southbound on 65. The second vehicle, driven by Donald G Armstrong, 58, of Springfield, then struck Hensley's car.

According to the report, Hensley refused treatment at the scene for minor injuries suffered. Saline County EMS transported Hensley's passenger, Shyanne R Sellers, 22, of Sedalia, to Fitzgibbon Hospital with moderate injuries. No injury to Armstrong was reported.
