The Innkeeper of Bethlehem
Storytellers, Nick and Lucy DellaValle, are coming to Marshall Church of the Nazarene this Sunday, Dec. 20, at 10:15 a.m. They will perform a dramatic presentation of the story of the innkeeper of Bethlehem -- the one who told Joseph and Mary that there was no room for them in the inn.
"We don't know much of this obscure man of long ago," says N. DellaValle. "He is often brushed off as uncaring or heartless. Although it's true, he was the first to turn away the Son of God, there is another side to him unknown to many of us. In one night, his life is transformed as he meets a young couple, is awakened by a Divine chorus, follows strange travelers, witnesses a star traveling across the sky and remembers the words of the prophets."
All are invited to listen to his incredible adventure and experience the miracle that turned the innkeeper from a despised man into... God's very first evangelist! The night that Jesus was born...the innkeeper of Bethlehem was born again!
The performance is the central part of the church's morning worship service and is open to the public. Nursery care for children through the age of 4 is provided. For more information, call the church office at 660-886-6464.
