Large amount of laptops purchased at local Walmart
A large purchase of more than $7,000 worth of computers was purchased at Marshall Walmart, according to a report from Marshall Police Department.
At approximately 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, a man entered through the grocery entrance and approached the desk in the electronics section and requested to buy all of the laptop computers the store had on hand. The man eventually purchased 26 laptops.
The man, who lives in Lenexa, Kan., used a tax-exempt card for "SAVE 4U TECH" and paid for the laptops with a credit card, according to the report.
After getting surveillance footage and the name of the man, an officer contacted the Lenexa Police Department. The officer later contacted the Kansas City Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to file a report about the purchase.
According to the Lenexa Police Department, they have had contact several times over the past year (2015) with the male subject, but he was last arrested in 2005.
