An arraignment has been scheduled for a Marshall man facing two felony charges regarding child molestation.

Charges were filed against 40-year-old Russell A. Renfrow Sr. after the Saline County Sheriff's Department issued a warrant Nov. 22. Charges filed by the prosecuting attorney of Saline County were statutory rape first degree-sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years old and statutory sodomy first degree-deviate sexual intercourse with person less than 14 years old.

The alleged incident occurred on or about Sept. 25, according to documents from the Circuit Court of Saline County.

A probable cause statement from the Marshall Police Department indicated that this past October, the alleged victim was interviewed at Child Safe, in Sedalia, as well as a younger boy who allegedly witnessed the event. Prior to the warrant being issued, Renfrow was interviewed by an MPD detective. He waived the Miranda Warning and denied the allegations, according to the probable cause statement.

Renfrow is currently being held on a $50,000 cash only bond. His arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 2.
