Cattle Auction Report for 10/27/15

   Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold 3.00 to 4.00 higher. 
Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 lower. Several good quality small to medium sized 
consignments in town this week, including some true yearling crossbred cattle ready 
to go to work. A (very) light rain fell throughout the day across the local area, 
but not enough to do much but settle the dust. Supply light and demand moderate to 
good. Cows and bulls accounted for 27 percent of the total offering. The feeder 
supply consisted of 59 percent steers and bulls and 41 percent heifers; 29 percent 
of all the feeder cattle weighed over 600 lbs.          

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  300-400 lbs 249.00-276.00; 400-500 lbs 
230.00-240.00; 500-600 lbs 209.00-224.00; pkg 721 lbs 197.00.  Medium and Large 
1-2  400-500 lbs 206.00-222.00; 500-600 lbs 200.00-210.00.  Large 1  pkg 648 
lbs 201.25.  Large 1-2  lot 540 lbs 218.00; 600-700 lbs 183.50-199.50; pkg 769 
lbs 181.50.
