Marshall Circle No. 535 Daughters of Isabella met at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Maureen Burks called the meeting to order, the prayer was led by Virginia Sprigg, and the pledge to the flag was given.
Roll call was taken with 10 officers present. Marge Elsea read the minutes of the June and August meetings, and reported that the scribe notes have been published in the newspaper.
There was no regular meeting in July but members and guests enjoyed a Crazy Bridge card party. The treasurer report was given by Mildred Gilliam.
Two applications for membership were submitted by Deanna Sporleder and Mary Hoecker, and both were granted membership.
A motion was made and carried that a new scrapbook be purchased to replace the old and recently filed one.
Several members planned to attend the State Convention in Jefferson City Sept. 17-20. Burks volunteered to act as Delegate from Marshall Circle No. 535 and was also voted to represent the Circle as the Isabellan. The Marshall Circle was responsible for the memorial service.
A fall rummage sale was discussed and confirmed for Thursday, Oct. 15, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday Oct. 16, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Clean and sellable item donations will be accepted at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
