Raphael G. Samson
Raphael G. Samson, 83, of rural Marshall, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Duesdieker officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Inurnment will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or American Heart Association in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born April 25, 1932, in Saline County, Raphael was the son of the late Ray Samson and Ruth Dennis Samson. On Dec. 1, 1951, he married Anna Margaret Barr who survives. He lived in Saline County most of his life and was a retired mechanic and farmer. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Mid-Missouri Antique Power and Collectibles and Gold Prospectors Association of America. He had served in the Missouri Army National Guard.
In addition to his wife, Anna, Raphael is survived by six children, Deborah Vincent and husband Tim of Lee's Summit, Ken Samson and companion Rachel of Marshall, Mike Samson and wife Janet of Marshall, Kevin Samson and companion Melissa "Sam" Latimer of Marshall, Brian Samson and wife Lisa of Anthem, Ariz. and James Samson of rural Marshall; eight grandchildren, Johnny Sudduth, Kenneth Samson Jr, Joshua Samson, Derick Samson, Justin Samson, Brianna Samson, Cody Samson and Casey Samson; seven great-grandchildren; five siblings, Joe Samson of Malta Bend, Ruth Ann Sassmann of Alma, Mary Kliethermes of rural Marshall, Jewell Rae Medcalf of Marshall and Beverly Moore of Independence; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Raphael was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Ann Samson.
