Youths greet floats in Friday's Corn Husking parade

Monday, September 28, 2015
Children wave at the "Bean Buggy Weed Hunters" float -- as well as every other entry -- in the 2015 Corn Husking parade held Friday, Sept. 25. The parade traveled east on Arrow Street and around three sides of Marshall's downtown square where families clustered, anticipating each float and the possibility of candy. Entries included farm machinery, the Marshall High School marching band, several businesses, and equestrians, among others. The Missouri State Corn Husking Championships took place Saturday morning at Saline County Fairground, in Marshall. The Marshall Democrat-News will print results as they become available.
