County Commission discusses workman's compensation

Tuesday, September 1, 2015

Southern Commissioner Monte Fenner noted at the Saline County Commission meeting held Tuesday, Sept. 1, that new training will be soon to come for the commission as well as other county officials.

In a recent conversation with Russ Van Ness, of the Missouri Rural Services Worker's Compensation Insurance Trust, Fenner explained they and Emergency Management Director Emmit Williams will be meeting with Van Ness in coming weeks.

"Russ is going to meet with us on (Sept 18,) and also meet with Emmit," Fenner said. "And he's going to get some guidelines for Emmit to use in his training of the worker's comp at the highway shed and also at the jail justice center."

Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey also discussed the on-going fountain repair taking place on the courthouse lawn. He said the combined agencies facilitating the repair should have work done by the 100th anniversary of the fountain donation to the county, which is in October.
