Saline County Fair Goat Show
The Goat Show took place Wednesday, July 15 in the new show arena. The 4-H members kicked off the first livestock show of the week. Categories of the show were divided into market, dairy and meat. Dairy and meat goats were grouped by age and gender. Market goats were organized into classes based on weight. The livestock judge was Spencer Scotten.
Dairy Goat Results:
Abby Gass was awarded first in class and Grand Champion doe overall. Gass also earned second in class and Reserve overall.
Haley Browning received first in class for her doe born between March 1 and March 31. Shane Bishop collected second in the dairy goat division.
Meat Goat Results:
Kade Plattner took the champion title, second in class and the Reserve overall with his three to six month old doe. He collected second in class with his 16 to 20 month old doe. Plattner also earned first in class and Grand Champion overall in the 36 months plus group of meat goats.
Montana Plattner took home the title of Champion Yearling Meat Doe. She also received second in class for her 36 months plus doe in the meat goat division.
Danielle Funk took home first in the three to six month old buck class. Evan Funk took second place.
Kade Plattner had two bucks that were 24 to 36 months of age. Plattner was awarded with first in class and Grand Champion overall as well as second in class and Reserve Champion overall.
Market Goat Results:
Kati Viets took home the title of Grand Champion market goat. Sydnee Mason was presented with Reserve Grand Champion.
Showmanship finished off the goat show. Haley Browning accepted the Junior Showmanship award. Hannah Viets received Intermediate Showmanship. Senior Showmanship was presented to Danielle Funk.
