Mizer receives internship at Monsanto
Abrea Mizer of Marshall, is getting a head start on a possible career in agriculture by spending her summer advocating for the industry through an internship with Monsanto Company. Mizer is one of six college students from Missouri in her internship class.
Mizer who is studying biochemistry and agricultural education leadership at the University of Missouri, will spend three months working with the company's community outreach team in the St. Louis headquarters.
"I am looking forward to expressing my passion for the agriculture industry by engaging with rural America," said Mizer, who will work on the Monsanto Fund's America's Farmers programs this summer. "I am excited to be involved in programs that are making a difference in communities like mine. This experience provides new insight and opportunities for me within ag."
Monsanto's internship program places students on the inside track to a career with an industry leader. Last year, approximately 70 percent of the company's full-time hires out of college came from the intern program, and it is expected to be even higher this year.
