4-H kids participate in Clover Kids Day

Wednesday, July 8, 2015

Twelve 4-H and non-4-H members participated in Saline County 4-H Clover Kids Day at Van Meter State Park. During the day, Clover Kids participated in making tootsie rolls, bird feeders, garden stones, clover hand paintings, slime, Wizard's Brew, crazy hair people, and tie dyed T-shirts. A majority of the Clover Kids in attendance expressed interest in exhibiting their work at the Saline County Fair, Saturday, July 11, through Sunday, July 19.

Clover Kids is the officially recognized 4-H program in Missouri for children under age 8. The program is designed to provide 5-7 year olds a variety of educational and recreational experiences in a non-competitive environment. Clover Kids are involved in activities led by an adult that will help them explore many different interests, build self-confidence, practice communication skills, get along and share with others, and be a part of a group.
