Local Teen Elected to Missouri State 4-H Council
Blake Summers of Slater recently returned from Columbia where he was elected as a Regional Representative to the Missouri State 4-H Council. The election took place as part of the 70th annual State 4-H Congress June 4-6, which was attended by over two hundred Missouri teens.
The State 4-H Council is a group of teens who represent the voice of youth for Missouri 4-H, providing input on policy issues and playing a major role in the statewide 4-H events of MU Extension. Almost 23,000 Missouri children and youth participated in 4-H clubs, and over 206,000 were reached by Missouri 4-H programs in 2014.
Blake Summers is a freshman at University of Missouri - Columbia and an active member of the Bizy Beavers 4-H Club. "I'm looking forward to continuing my service on the State 4-H Council for the second year, said Blake. I want to enhance my leadership skills, and put my experience to work as I strive to run for a State 4-H Council Executive position in the coming year."
