Woman charged with class D felony

The prosecuting attorney of Saline County has charged Jennifer Painter, 42, of Nelson, with a class D felony, of driving while license was revoked and an additional misdemeanor.

On Tuesday, June 2, Saline County Sheriff's Department received multiple calls regarding a vehicle parked in the westbound lanes of Highway H. After questioning on scene, officers took Painter into custody for operating a vehicle while knowing her license had been revoked with a 10-year denial. Painter's license was revoked in October 2008 after two separate convictions for driving with a suspended license from a DWI conviction in July 2008. Painter could face up to four years in the Department of Corrections, or up to one year in county jail, and/or Up to $5,000 fine.
