Larry Reace Stephens
Larry Reace Stephens, 69, of LeCompton, Kan., formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, July 6, 2014, in Normal, Ill.
Memorial services with military rites will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born Jan. 6, 1945, in St. Louis, he was the youngest son of the late Mary Ellen Matthews. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving duty on the U.S.S. Tripoli in Vietnam from 1967-1970. He was a salesman, working the majority of his career in management for Firestone in Lawrence, Kan.
He is survived by his long-time companion, Christine Tsui, of Normal, Ill.; one son, Mark and his wife, Jennifer, of Ozark; two grandsons, Carter and Jesse; a special nephew, James Holmes and his wife, Ann; his nieces, Judi White, Rhonda Myers and her husband, Jim, and June Harris and her husband, Charles; one half-sister, Carol Sue Hawkins; and several other half-brothers and half-sisters.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Aline Holmes and one brother, Joe Stephens.
