Slater school board approves three sets of bleachers

Slater School District's Board of Education approved another set of bleachers from Heartland Seating at its Tuesday, May 20, meeting.

According to the minutes, the purchase price of $71,592 was approved. The bleachers base cost was $65,704, plus $434 for 12-inch seats and $5,454 for supplemental support brackets.

Superintendent Terry Lorenz recognized Byron Tyler, volunteer coach for fifth and sixth grade, and honored him with a plaque for his contributions to the school.

The board approved the purchase of video surveillance from ISG Technology for $34,280.42 and overhead paging from Converged Technology Solutions for $8,559.94.

The board also approved the state's local compliance plan for special education and the student handbook, as well as policy changes and updates.

The board then adjourned into executive session.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17.
