Boonville - Missouri Valley Commission Company: Cattle Auction Report for 05/13/14

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

Receipts: 344 Week Ago: 353 Year Ago: 1109

   Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers traded fully steady.
Slaughter cows steady. Corn is popping up in rows throughout the area but a cool
damp day in mid-Missouri parked the planters and brought plenty of spectators
ringside for a short run of cattle. Lots of singles and a wide variety of type
and kind creating wide price spreads here at grass time. Supply light and demand
moderate. Cows and bulls accounted for 22 percent of the total offering. The
feeder supply consisted of 64 percent steers and bulls and 36 percent heifers;
20 percent of all the feeder cattle weighed over 600 lbs.
