CONCORDIA -- The Sweet Springs softball team stretched its winning streak to 31 games Tuesday with an 11-1, five-inning victory at Concordia.

Senior Katie Viets hit three doubles and drove in four runs, three with bases-loaded smash to cap a five-run third inning, while also tossing a one-hitter and striking out nine batters for the Lady Greyhounds.

Sweet Springs scored three runs in the top of the first inning, sophomore Miranda Tyler providing an RBI single, before the Lady Orioles (2-7) notched an unearned run in the bottom half of the frame from an error and sophomore Kayla Stuart's base hit.

Junior Olivia Loges stroked a two-run double for the Lady 'Hounds in the third, with three more runs crossing in the fifth as Viets and senior Christina Higgins hit back-to-back doubles.

Viets retired the last 13 batters she faced, coming on the heels of her eighth career no-hitter during Friday's 12-0 home win over St. Paul.

Sweet Springs (8-0) has a week to rest before traveling to Crest Ridge on Tuesday.
