Letter to the Editor: Children are educated by teachers, not by buildings

Monday, March 31, 2014

I am not sure where education is headed, but I doubt that it will even be in a school building in another 15 years. This much I do know...

Children are educated by teachers, not by buildings. Please do not forget this if the levy does or does not pass.

I attended second through eighth grade at Hardeman, a one room school house. I graduated with a masters degree in education from Northwest Missouri State University and taught over 20 years in public and private schools. The question is, where should we spend our money? If you think a new building is going to educate your children, try talking to a brick wall and tell me what you were able to learn.
