Saline County Cattlemen announce scholarship recipients for area high school seniors

The Cattlemen raise these scholarship funds by promoting beef at beef cookouts. They have been making these scholarship presentations for over twenty consecutive years to Saline County students. The award is for $500.

The students this year are:

-- Mary Rose Gonzales, Slater High School, daughter of Robert and Debbie Gonzales. She will be attending Central Methodist University at Fayette with an intended major in biology.

-- Jessie Lynn Gorrell, Malta Bend High School, daughter of Brent and Ann Gorrell. She will be attending University of Missouri in Columbia with a major in animal science.

-- Kati Viets, Sweet Springs High School, daughter of Mike and Brenda Viets. She will be attending Missouri Science and Technology in Rolla.

-- Mason Lane Sandidge, Marshall High School, son of Brent and Connie Sandidge. He will be attending the University of Missouri in Columbia with a major in Agriculture.

-- Kayla Elson, Marshall High School, daughter of Mendell and Anita Elson, will be attending Northwest Missouri State University to study agronomy.

-- Savannah Gabriel Simpson, Marshall High School, daughter of John and Karla Simpson, will be attending William Jewell College to major in the nursing program with the intention of furthering her career as a nurse practitioner.
