Accident in Benton County leaves Marshall women with moderate injuries

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ricky L. Roberts, 55, of Lincoln, was driving a 1990 Oldsmobile when he failed to yield to traffic and pulled into the path of a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Rebecca S. Butcher, 29, of Warsaw.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, Roberts was traveling westbound on US Highway 65 at Route BB in Benton County when he struck the Chevy on the driver's side rear. According to the report a passenger in the Oldsmobile, Susan R. Roberts, 46, of Lincoln, refused treatment at the scene while Ricky L. Roberts was transported by Warsaw/Lincoln EMS to Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. Two passengers in Butcher's vehicle also received injuries. Vanity H. Workcuff, 26, of Marshall, was also transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries and Priceston D. Banks, 30, of Warsaw, received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. All but one passenger was wearing a safety device.

Benton County deputies assisted at the scene.
