Letter to the Editor: Larry Arrowood's dream comes to life
It was good to see the article about the renovation and renewal of the old Van Dyke building into a Marshall Visitors Center and Jim the Wonder Dog Museum.
However, the most important part of the story was missing and needs to be told. The project was the dream of Larry Arrowood and would never have come to fruition without his hard work and dedication. He was and is fortunate to have his wife, LaDonna, support him with her time and energy every step of the way. Yes, he had a board that had a great deal of confidence in him and his ideas, and some wonderful volunteers and donors to help, but Larry has been, and continues to be, the driving force.
Many of us feel the project will be a great asset to the community like the Jim Memorial Garden has been.
We would like to see Larry recognized for the ability and tenacity required of him to overcome the many obstacles he encountered during the three years it has taken to achieve his goal.
We need more people like Larry and LaDonna who are concerned with giving back in order to make Marshall a better community.
