The Heart of America Dairy Expo, presented by Hiland Dairy Foods, will be held Jan 23-25 at the Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield.

"We are really excited to offer dairy farmers in the midwest an alternative for educational programming closer to home and directed to our needs," Expo Chairman and dairy farmer Larry Purdom of Purdy, Mo, said. "Last year we drew 400 attendees from ten states. We have the largest dairy trade show south of Madison and Sioux Falls."

Registration is free for dairy farmers and their families with a nominal registration fee for allied industry representatives. All dairy farmers and allied industry, regardless of state, are invited to attend.

"The Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center offers a convention hall which will house over 60 dairy exhibits and equipment inside. The Ramada is conveniently located on the north side of Springfield at Glenstone and Interstate 44," Purdom said.

This year's expo kicks off with a grand opening trade show reception on Thursday night Jan. 23 including an early bird seminar featuring new CEO Jim Mulhern of the National Milk Producers Federation of Washington, D. C.

"Missouri's dairy organizations will also continue to conduct board meetings and annual meetings during the Expo," Expo Sales Manager Dave Drennan said. "We also don't want travelers to forget that Branson is only 45 miles away from Springfield so we hope they plan a trip and enjoy all Missouri has to offer," Drennan added.

Meal reservations are requested and may be made by viewing www.heartofamericadairy.org for more details and the complete Expo schedule.
