The G.F.W.C. Coterie Club met Tuesday, Aug. 27
The G.F.W.C. Coterie Club met Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the home of Pat Hammer for a salad supper which was co-hosted by Ruth Ann Clemens. Prayer was given before the meal.
President Verna Sue Gibson called the business meeting to order, and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
For the devotional Hammer invited everyone to recite the Lord's Prayer.
Minutes of the May meeting were read and approved. There were 17 members present for the meeting. Guests were Miriam Anderson, George Clemens and Billie Jo Boyer, who is a prospective new member.
The treasurer's report was given and approved.
Volunteer hours were recorded.
Miss Piggy donations were made.
Gibson announced the open house at Girls Town is the first Saturday in October and encouraged participation.
Mary Ann Anderson gave the G.F.W.C. report, highlighting the availability of the Phoebe J. Ess student loans.
Gibson mentioned the Battle of Marshall events.
A motion was made by Arline Borchers and seconded by Lois Weiher to keep the dues the same.
The business meeting was closed with recitation of the club collect.
An auction fundraiser of items was held with George Clemens as auctioneer.
