   Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves traded 2.00 to 3.00 lower with 
their heavier counterparts trending easily 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Of particular 
interest to buyers this week were 700-800 lb yearlings which saw the full 
advance, even 7.00 to 8.00 in spots, despite the recent prolonged heat wave.  
Slaughter cows steady to firm. Supply and demand moderate. Cows and bulls 
accounted for 15 percent of the total offering. The feeder supply consisted of 
58 percent steers and bulls and 42 percent heifers; 52 percent of all the feeder 
cattle weighed over 600 lbs.
