Marshall Lions Club held its weekly meeting at 12:05 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the Clubhouse in Marshall.

Lion First Vice President Maureen Burks called the meeting to order. Lion Sharon Hall led the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Mike Davis gave the prayer and opened the meeting.

There were 14 members and two guests in attendance. Lion Janice Curtis and First Vice District Governor Gary Curtis were guests of Lion Jene Crook.

A motion was made by Lion Pete Hollabaugh and seconded by Lion Shirley Mach to approve the minutes of the Aug. 12 meeting.

In old business, Burks passed around a sign-up sheet for the 5K run/10K run and broom trailer.

In new business, Lion Charlie Eidson reported he had received approximately 525 used eye glasses from Walmart to be delivered to MLERF.

Curtis gave a short program on the upcoming district lions events and the district's new officers.

The meeting adjourned with Davis winning the kitty and leading the closing song.
