The Optimist Club of Marshall held its weekly meeting at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Bloomfield's in Marshall.
The meeting was called to order by Club President Robyn Leimkuehler. The invocation was given by Ken Clause, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
The club will hold a NOW dinner Friday, Sept. 6, at the Optimist Shelter at Indian Foothills Park. Members are asked to bring two side dishes.
Santa Fe Trail Days will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at the park. The club will be selling concessions.
There will be a combined board meeting Thursday, Sept. 19, at Leimkuehler Insurance office.
The installation banquet will be held in the fellowship hall at First United Methodist Church on Sept. 26. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will be at 6:30 p.m.
The program for the morning was given by Leimkuehler. She spoke on a vacation her family had taken to Padukah, Ken. They visited the Wall of Murals there.
The morning drawing was won by Ann Collier.
With no other business, the meeting adjourned with the Optimist Creed.
