The Department of Missouri 93rd American Legion Auxiliary Annual Convention was held July 18-21 in Jefferson City
On Sunday, July 21, district presidents were installed at the convention. Slater American Legion Auxiliary President Vickie Heard was elected and installed as district seven president for the 2013-2014 year.
District seven covers: Slater, Lexington, Wellington, Glasgow, Fayette, Warsaw, Higginsville, Concordia, Sweet Springs, Odessa, Cole Camp, Balckburn, Green Ridge, La Monte, Cross Timbers, Sedalia and Marshall.
The theme for Missouri Legion Auxiliary this year is, "Wheels Turning to Serve Veterans by Working Together to Make a Difference." The local unit No. 191 and district seven will work to make a difference for veterans. The auxiliary is always looking to strengthen membership. For any women that has or had a family member serve in the military, are invited to attend a meeting. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at Marshall post No. 191 located at 1232 N. Miami.
The American Legion Auxiliary member's goal is to support and honor our men and women veterans for their sacrifices and dedication to the right of freedom for the United States and to foreign nations.
