The Optimist Club of Marshall held its weekly meeting Aug. 10

The Optimist Club of Marshall held its weekly meeting at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Bloomfield's in Marshall.

The meeting was called to order by Club Vice President Ken Clause. The invocation was given by Paul Collier, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Several members of the club visited Carl and Margaret O'Dell at John Knox Village.

The morning program was given by Gary Grote and Ken Donnell. They reported on the 29th annual West-Mo. District Convention of Optimist International held last week in Springfield.

Ken Clause spoke on his trip to the Missouri State Fair, where he attended the barbeque competition. Kids Day at the Fair was held Wednesday, Aug. 14.

The morning drawing was won by Wayne McReynolds.

With no other business, the meeting adjourned with The Optimist Creed.
