Marshall Lions Club held its weekly meeting July 29
Marshall Lions Club held its weekly meeting at 12:05 p.m. Monday, July 29, at the Clubhouse in Marshall.
President David Diehm called the meeting to order. Lion Dennis Hunter led the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Shirley Mach gave the prayer and opened the meeting.
There were 13 members in attendance and four guests. David and Wayne Crook were guests of Lion Jene Crook, and John Hall and Ralistsa Gospodinova were guests of Lion Sharon Hall.
A motion was made by Hunter and seconded by Lion Andy Roehrs to approve the minutes of the July 15 meeting.
In old business, Diehm led a discussion on the upcoming broom sales. The club decided to have the sale in October and to also sell brooms during the Farmer's Market the last Saturday in September and the first Saturday in October.
Lion Lesa Banks announced that all the Run for Sight sponsorships are now due.
In new business, Walmart collected used eyeglasses and has requested that someone from the club pick them up.
Hall and Gospodinova gave the program, "Adopt a Viking."
The meeting adjourned with Lion Maureen Burks winning the kitty and leading the closing song.
