Kingsville Livestock Auction: Cattle Auction Report for 08/13/2013

Receipts:  962    Last Week:  1194    Year Ago:  1414

   Compared to last week, steers under 750 lbs sold mostly 4.00 to 10.00 higher;
heifers under 750 lbs 5.00 to 8.00 higher; heavier weight steers and heifers
steady to firm.  Supply moderate with one load lot selling.  Demand very good
with active trade.  Cows and bulls were 14 percent of receipts.  In the feeder
supply, steers and bulls were 47 percent of the run; heifers 53 percent.  Near
65 percent of feeders weighed over 600 lbs.  Slaughter cows sold near steady.
