Blackburn teen injured in 1-vehicle accident

A 16-year-old from Blackburn suffered minor injuries after a one-vehicle accident at approximately 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, on Missouri Highway 127 south of U.S. Highway 65, in Saline County.

Ashteen Winfrey was driving northbound on Highway 127 when her 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier ran off the right side of the roadway, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Her car returned to the road, rotated clockwise and slid off the right side of the highway into a ditch. MSHP said in its report an investigation into the accident continues.

Winfrey's vehicle was removed from the scene by Cadwell's Towing. The driver sought her own medical treatment, according to the report.

Winfrey was wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP report.
