The Marshall Lions Club held its weekly meeting at 12:05 p.m. Monday, June 24, at the Clubhouse in Marshall.
Lion President Nancy Harris called the meeting to order. Lion Leslie Sturhahn led the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Dennis Hunter gave the prayer and opened the meeting.
There were 15 members in attendance for the meeting.
A motion was made by Lion Jene Crook and seconded by Hunter to approve the minutes of the June 10 meeting.
In old business, Harris led a discussion on the hearing aid request. Crook stated that there is a financial assistance at the state level. However, the club would be responsible for taking the applicant to an audiologist, with the closest in Sedalia, and the applicant may not be physically able to go. Lion Lesa Banks reminded the club the sponsorship forms for the Run for Sight should be turned in by Aug. 1.
In new business, Harris read a letter stating the the new executive director at MLERF is Lion Tony Bavuso of the Liberty Lions Club.
The meeting was adjourned with Pete Hollababugh winning the kitting and leading the closing song.
