G.F.W.C. holds monthly meeting
The G.F.W.C. Coterie Club met at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Bloomfield's Family Restaurant.
President Verna Gibson called the meeting to order.
"Miss Piggy" contributions were given and Patricia's receipts were turned in.
Personal care items were collected for the D.I.G.S. house for the homeless youth.
Gibson gave a devotional entitled, "False Messiahs."
There were 13 members in attendance for the meeting.
The minutes of the April meeting were read and approved.
The treasurer's report was given by Jo Eichelberger.
Volunteer hours were recorded.
Gibson reported on the state G.F.W.C. meeting that was also attended by Joy Little and Pat Hammer.
Muriel Weinreich gave the G.F.W.C. news report highlighting the new tag-line, "Living the Volunteer Spirit."
Eichelberger reported on the "Kind News" project. A motion was made by Hammer and seconded by Hulda Dooley, that they continue providing it for the fourth graders.
Gibson gave a report on the Saline County Barbeque.
Gibson gave recognition to the other officers, who along with her, will continue another year. They are Arline Borchers, vice president; Eichelberger, treasurer; and LaJune Southard, secretary.
The meeting was closed with the recitation of the Club Collect.
