The Optimist Club holds weekly meeting Saturday, June 15

The Optimist Club of Marshall held its weekly meeting Saturday, June 15, at Bloomfield's in Marshall.

The meeting was called to order by Club President Robyn Leimkuehler. The invocation was given by Paul Collier, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Leimkuehler reported on the start of the library reading program. The club served free hot dogs during the kick-off event.

The burger bust was held Saturday, June 15, in the parking lot of the old Walmart building.

The Bear Creek Blues Festival will be held Saturday, June 29, in Slater.

On Saturday, Sept. 14, the club will work at Santa Fe Trail Days.

Leimkuehler spoke about the club attending the Lyceum Theatre, more information will be given at future meetings.

The morning drawing was won by Wayne McReynolds.

Kyle Gibbs gave a report on the baseball program.

The meeting adjourned with the Optimist Creed.
