Benjemen Valencia chosen to play in fourth annual Lions District All-Star Basketball Game
Benjemen Valencia, Marshall High School graduate, will be among the 48 players selected to play in the fourth annual Lions District 26-M5 All-Star Basketball Games Saturday, June 8, at Missouri Valley College.
He is the son of Juan Carlos and Olga Valencia. He will be attending MVC in August and majoring in finance.
The girls game will be played at 6 p.m. and the boys game will be at 8 p.m. at the Georgia Robertson Burns Athletic Complex on the MVC campus. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $5 per person.
High school seniors are nominated by their respective coaches and will make up the two North and South girls' and boys' teams. A banquet honoring these athletes will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Ferguson Center on the MVC campus. Cost of the banquet is $12.50. Advanced reservations are required.
These games serve as an opportunity for the Lions to recognize the outstanding athletes in the district as well as a fundraising activity to assist in furthering the cause of Lionism and helping those in need.
